Barnet Vermont was established in 1763. It was named after the town in England. Settled by three brothers by the name of Hall, Barnet was settled as a farming town. Barnet really became established on the paper industry. Barnet Village, East Barnet, West Barnet, McIndoe Falls, and Passumpsic are the five villages that make up Barnet. Local stores sell Vermont made goods. Eratus and Horace Fairbanks, from Barnet, both became governor of Vermont.
